The Tyndale Theological Seminary

Citation Guide

Research papers and theses at Tyndale Theological Seminary must follow the standards provided in this online guide for citing sources in footnotes and bibliographies.  With a few exceptions, Tyndale follows the Turabian/Chicago notes-bibliography style. For matters related to modern sources not addressed in this guide and for general writing style, students should consult Turabian, A Manual for Writers (9th ed.) or Chicago Manual of Style (17th ed.). For matters related to ancient sources not addressed in this guide, students should seek guidance from The SBL Handbook of Style (2nd ed.) and the SBL Style blog.

Acknowledgments

This guide would not have been possible apart from the generous spirit of Missio Seminary and their former research librarian, Meredith Castor. Missio graciously gave Tyndale Theological Seminary permission to reuse and modify the content of the wonderful handbook that Ms. Castor created. In creating Tyndale’s guide, we have followed the basic structure of Ms. Castor’s handbook and reused many of the same Turabian examples.
